DuPont and Danish Technological Institute (DTI), Aarhus

A combined visit to DuPont and Danish Technological Institute. See how applying science will help build your business and be part of the solution to feed the world’s growing population.

DuPont works with food manufacturers and producers worldwide to develop more sustainable ways of feeding the world. By 2020, DuPont will have invested over $10 billion in 4,000 products focused on food solutions. Currently, over 60% of DuPont’s total research investment goes to food. DuPont scientists and business experts are collaborating with food manufacturers and producers worldwide to make food safer, healthier, tastier and easier to produce. DuPont innovates across the food chain, from seeds to ingredients, packaging to safety technology. As tastes change, regulations evolve and the challenges of ensuring a sustainable food supply multiply, DuPont is working with customers and partners to develop solutions at scale.

Danish Technological Institute (DTI)

One of the strategic focal areas of DTI is to aid the establishment of a bio-based economy – within this context, DTI has a cross-disciplinary excellence centre named ‘The Bio-based Society’ which spans several divisions and includes numerous teams working on various bio-economical aspects. In the Life Science division, one of these teams is focusing on using insects as feed and food; current R&D efforts include insect production based on organic by-products from the feed and food industry, automation of insect production and consumer perception of insects as food.
