Danish Technological Institute (DTI)
One of the strategic focal areas of DTI is to aid the establishment of a bio-based economy – within this context, DTI has a cross-disciplinary excellence centre named ‘The Bio-based Society’ which spans several divisions and includes numerous teams working on various bio-economical aspects. In the Life Science division, one of these teams is focusing on using insects as feed and food; current R&D efforts include insect production based on organic by-products from the feed and food industry, automation of insect production and consumer perception of insects as food.
